Core Skills are a combination of people skills, social skills, communication skills, character or personality traits, attitudes, mindsets, career attributes, social intelligence, and emotional intelligence. These will make or break your success at your new job.

When thinking about Core Skills, think about the "perfect" co-worker. How do you want them to behave? With initiative? Do you want them to be helpful? Do their part? Be part of the team?

Take that same mindset and apply it to yourself. Below you will find helpful videos that breakdown Core Skills and show you how to apply them. Once you complete the videos please submit the quiz at the bottom of the page.

Are You an Ideal Team Player?

Patrick Lencioni thinks it is time to change the way we prepare people for success. Drawing from his book, The Ideal Team Player, Lencioni makes the compelling case that the key to success in an increasingly team-oriented world is being humble, hungry, and smart. Whether you’re a CEO or a 7th grader, focusing on these deceptively simple virtues can radically improve your personal and professional effectiveness and fulfillment. Time Management Tool

The Eisenhower Matrix, also referred to as Urgent-Important Matrix, helps you decide on and prioritize tasks by urgency and importance, sorting out less urgent and important tasks which you should either delegate or not do at all.

Time management is a very important soft skill to master. Every manager in every industry wants their team to have strong time management skills.

Wellbeing Wheel

SkillUP Wellbeing Wheel.pdf

Please self-assess each category on the Wellbeing Wheel from 1-7 (1 being lowest, 7 being highest). Once you have numbers for each category, draw a line connecting each of them. If your line forms a circle or something close to it, your life is pretty balanced. If your circle is lopsided, wavy or doesn’t look like a circle at all, how can we improve the areas that will get us to a bigger, more balanced circle?
