(June 20, 2025) Jefferson City, Mo. - Staff from community colleges across Missouri spent Friday, June 13, at Moberly Area Community College (MACC), gathering for this year’s Classified Staff Day hosted by the Missouri Community College Association (MCCA).

With the theme “Invest In Yourself,” the day was all about taking time to learn something new, connect with coworkers from other colleges, and feel appreciated for the work classified staff do every day.

This year marked the first time the event was offered in both in-person and virtual formats, helping to break attendance records with more than 100 participants registered, MCCA’s highest turnout for this seminar to date.

The schedule included sessions on using artificial intelligence tools at work, tips and tricks for getting the most out of Microsoft programs, and a keynote titled “Never Stop Getting Better.” MACC also welcomed attendees with a campus update and tour, and breakout discussions gave everyone the chance to dive into topics most relevant to their roles.

“Classified staff are the backbone of our colleges, and this event is one small way we can say thank you,” said Brian Millner, MCCA president and CEO. "Seeing over 100 staff members show up, both in person and online, shows just how eager people are to connect, learn and grow in their roles. We’re proud to support that.”

The location for the next Classified Staff Day will be announced during MCCA’s Annual Convention this fall.
